Achievement Leg 11: Week 11 at Los Angeles Rams (November 12, 1978)

Background

⦁ After 3 straight home wins, the Steelers traveled on the road to Los Angeles to play one of the biggest games of the year as they took on the LA Rams who were 8-2. In the first half, the game was in a defensive gridlock as neither team succeeded in scoring on every possession.

⦁ In the second half, the stalemate was broken as the Steelers scored on a Lynn Swann touchdown to put the Steelers up 7-0. Later in the 3rd quarter, the Rams put their first points on the scoreboards on a Frank Corral 37 yard kick to make it 7-3 entering the 4th quarter.

⦁ In the 4th quarter, the Steelers were shut out and the Rams put up a field goal to hand them their second loss with a 10-3 score.
