Achievement Leg 12: Week 12 vs Cincinnati Bengals (November 19, 1978)

Background

⦁ After a rough loss to the Rams, the Steelers make the long trip home to Pittsburgh to host the 1-10 Cincinnati Bengals. It turned out that just like the week before, it was a low scoring, defensive slugfest. The first points were scored by the Bengals as kicker Chris Bahr nailed a 29 yard field goal to put them up 3-0 in the first quarter.

⦁ In the second quarter, the Steelers score the game’s first touchdown as Rocky Bleier rushed it in from the 1 yard line to make it 7-3. Before halftime, the Bengals notch up another field goal from Chris Bahr to make it 7-6.

⦁ In the second half, the defenses dominated as neither team could score and in the end, it was Pittsburgh who prevailed for their 10th win on the season.
