Achievement Leg 17: AFC Divisional Round vs Denver Broncos (December 30, 1978)

This is a virtual airline achievement created by FireFly Air.

Background:

⦁ In the divisional round, the Steelers face the Broncos in a rematch of week 16. The Broncos scored first on a 37 yard field goal from Jim Turner to make it 3-0. Then the Steelers responded back with a Franco Harris touchdown run to make it 7-3.

⦁ In the second quarter, the Steelers scored twice on a Franco Harris touchdown run and a Roy Gerela field goal to make it 17-3. The Broncos punched in a rushing touchdown to make it 17-10 but would be their last points.

⦁ At the end of the first half, the Steelers notched up another field goal to make it 20-10 at halftime. In the second half, the Steelers defense shuts out the Broncos offense. In the fourth quarter, Terry Bradshaw threw 2 passing touchdowns to John Stallworth and Lynn Swan making it 34-10 and helping to punch Pittsburgh into the AFC Championship game.
