Indian Pacific Rail Parkes Airport to Sydney

This is a virtual airline achievement created by FireFly Air.

For those of you who are flying on stream with Murph congratulations for getting this far, you have covered up to 1526NM approx.

The final leg is from Parkes Airport to Sydney which is 155NM, will take across more beautiful and unique scenery.

I'm sure a little rip around the city to see Sidney Harbour Bridge, The Opera House and the excellent photogrammetry is must as well before our final landing in Sydney

Parkes Airport

The Parkes Regional Airport is a major gateway to the central west region and is located a short 5 kilometres east of the Parkes CBD, off the Henry Parkes Way (Orange Road). The airport is serviced by Regional Express (REX) providing regular passenger services between Parkes and Sydney, transporting 35,000 passengers each year.

Sydney Harbour

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge in Sydney, spanning Sydney Harbour from the central business district to the North Shore. Under the direction of John Bradfield of the New South Wales Department of Public Works, the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long of Middlesbrough, and opened in 1932.The bridge's general design, which Bradfield tasked the NSW Department of Public Works with producing, was a rough copy of the Hell Gate Bridge in New York City.

Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney. Located on the banks of Sydney Harbour, it is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous and distinctive buildings and a masterpiece of 20th century architecture.[3][4]

Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, but completed by an Australian architectural team headed by Peter Hall, the building was formally opened on 20 October 1973[5] after a gestation beginning with Utzon's 1957 selection as winner of an international design competition. The Government of New South Wales, led by the premier, Joseph Cahill, authorised work to begin in 1958 with Utzon directing construction. The government's decision to build Utzon's design is often overshadowed by circumstances that followed, including cost and scheduling overruns as well as the architect's ultimate resignation.[6]
