Start your day at EGRT - Bute Airfield, Rothesay.
This airfield has bene noted one of the most dangerous Grass airfields in Scotland after its notorious steep approach from the East with trees giving poor visibility of the runway. This airfield was stripped of its runway lights somewhat 15 years ago when accidents were becoming a real problem with pilots attempting this strip during inclement weather forcing them to overun into the farmers ditch adjacent to the strip. When wet this can be a tricky airfield.
After take off you will Circumnavigate from the West side to North passing St Ninnians bay, Famous Ettrick Bay following the coast north past the Kyles of Bute. You will then follow the island to the East past Tighnabruaich . Following this you'll head around the point to Rhubodoch where Sir Richard Atttenbourgh used to live. Then following the coast down south past Port Bannantyne, Ardbeg point into Rothesay town. This is where you'll see the famous Mount Stuart house. You will then follow the coastline to Kilchatton bay, where you should see the strip you're landing on, dont be fooled though- The trees make this a very tricky approach! Good luck!
