The year is nineteen and twenty eight. You are a newly minted pilot fresh out of training with National Parks Airways, who are contracted to carry the mail for the US Postal Service. This will be your first solo assignment after flying tandem with experienced pilots to show you the way.

Your mission is to fly the mail from Salt Lake City, Utah up to Great Falls, Montana. As this is your first trip, several rest stops at DOCILFs (Dept of Commerce Intermediate Landing Field) are planned along the way.

Your first leg starts at Salt Lake City and tracks the airway beacons north to Pocatello. Good luck!

Flight Plan:

• Route: Direct from Salt Lake City, Utah ISLC to Pocatello, Idaho KPIH
• Plane configuration: No passengers, 25 lbs of mail
• Navigation: lighted airway beacons, compass, dead reckoning

Requirements:

• Boeing Model 75 Stearman (GAS or DC Designs), or
• Fokker V.III, or
• Curtis JN-4 Jenny, or
• Boeing B247D

Salt Lake City departure: Depart from the Arrows Across America period airport for Salt Lake City, ISLC, not KSLC. ISLC is an era-appropriate airfield just off of the modern-day KSLC. Use the flight plan from ISLC to KPIH, not the system generated criteria below.
