The Cuba Disco event is an annual musical contest held by the Permanent Committee of the International Fair Cubadisco along with the Cuban Institute of Music.

This Fair is the most important event in the Cuban Music calendar, especially for the Cuban Music Record Industry, and takes place every year in the month of May.

The first Cubadisco International Fair took place in the year 1997 and since then, it has grown to become an integral part of the Cuban music scene acting as a showcase for the latest achievements in the industry.

The Cubadisco festival is a way to promote both the country of Cuba as well as the genre of Cuban music.

There is also a special tribute that is paid to various personalities and artists from the country who have contributed to this genre of music.

Along with the festivities, there are also a number of expositions, CD launches, conferences, and colloquiums that take place during this week-long festival.

Many musical performances by both local and international talent are held across Havana during the event.

At Cubadisco, there are over 2500 music titles and live shows that take place.

The event is considered to be a great platform for new talent and a forum for budding Cuban musicians to perform and interact with some of the biggest names in the Cuban music industry.

Criteria
