| Remarks: | First leg of the "Goldrush Rally 2023" achievement. This was also my first cross-country flight in the new Black Square TBM 850. She handled it like a champ! The only issue I had (and perhaps it isn't an issue at all) is that the GTN gave me a seemingly quite steep approach. Granted, it was an LNAV +V approach, which is a Garmin-calculated vertical guidance augmentation for LNAV-only RNAV approaches, so maybe it was actually a GTN thing rather than a TBM thing. Either way, the airplane flew it very well. I'll have to see if the TBM is actually certified for steep approaches. If it isn't, it should be because I was very easily able to keep the speed down on that glidepath. So far so good with the TBM 850! |
