Remarks: | A short regional/communter flight to inaugurate the new aircraft. Took quite some time to familiarize myself with the flight deck and get things situated for our departure out of Ottawa. I had to modify our cruise altitude as I think we were too heavy for the one assigned by simbrief. AP disconnected and we kept losing airspeed. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an Optimum Alt/Level indicator in the FMS so it's a little bit of a guessing game until the simbrief profile is sorted out. Our approach into Toronto went pretty smoothly, the aircraft captured the ILS just fine and the transition from AP to manual was good. It did float quite a bit - there was a lot of ground effect to deal with. |
