Reid Internationa/Las Vegas [KLAS] > Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake [KNID] (126 NM)

China Lake has been around since WW2 when it's mission was defined as, "a station having for its primary function the research, development, and testing of weapons, and having an additional function of furnishing primary training in the use of such weapons." They developed rockets there during WW2 and the base is still in heavy use. Notably the AIM-9 Sidewinder air to air missile and the Tomahawk cruse missile were both developed there. Curiously, they seem to have also done research there that played some role in the devolpment of glowsticks. The area of the base is huge, encompassing nearly 12% of the State of California's air space and it's perfect for the task of developing things that go Whoosh! Boom!

Criteria

Depart from KLAS, fly to and land at KNID (126 NM). Your landing rate must not exceed 700 f/m.

You will be awarded XP 150 for completing this achievement.
