Reid Internationa/Las Vegas [KLAS] > Tonopah Test Range [KTNX] (129 mi)

Everyone's heard of Area 51, but only the true connisseur knows about Area 52, aka the Tonopah Test Range. These days it's apparently a test site for things nuclear weapon, so not too much flying, though there seems to be a lot of training done in the restricted airspace around the site. Back in the day though it was the home of the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron, aka the "Red Eagles" who ran Constant Peg, the US Air Forces combat training program employing "adversary" aircract, which included Mig-17's, Mig-21's and Mig-23's and perhaps others as well. Constant Peg ran from 1977 - 1988. Additionally a group of F-117 stealth fighters was stationed there while the program was still classified, until 1989. Things seem a bit less hectic now but who really knows what goes on there, you should definitely go have a look.

Criteria

Depart from KLAS, fly to and land at KTNX (130 NM). Your landing rate must not exceed 700 f/m.

You will be awarded XP 150 for completing this achievement.
