Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Saints' Day. It begins the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. Popular Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising and souling), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins or turnips into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror or Halloween-themed films.

Sleepy Hollow

The film, Sleepy Hollow was filmed in Tarrytown, New York which is 0.7 nm from the town of Sleepy Hollow. The story says a Hessian soldier died many years ago during the American Revolutionary War. He was decapitated by a cannonball . Every night he rises from his burial place, jumps on his horse and rides through the valley looking for his lost head.  Our destination is Westchester County (KHPN) which is 7nm from Sleepy Hollow (Tarrytown). Salem Witches

The infamous Salem witch trials began during the spring of 1692, after a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. As a wave of hysteria spread throughout colonial Massachusetts, a special court convened in Salem to hear the cases; the first convicted witch, Bridget Bishop, was hanged that June. Eighteen others followed Bishop to Salem’s Gallows Hill, while some 150 more men, women and children were accused over the next several months. New Orleans, “the most haunted city in America,” is known for year-round spooky ghost tours, above ground cemeteries, vampires and Voodoo shops. New Orleans was originally home to the infamous Madame LaLaurie and the first lady of Voodoo, Marie Laveau, who contributed to the city’s haunted history. These unique and historical Halloween traditions include parades, costume balls and parties in the French Quarter, in addition to classic trick-or-treating. Our destination is Lakefront (KNEW). Spooky Hotel

Have you ever wanted to step into Halloweentown and truly experience the magic? Look no further than Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Eureka Springs has a long and fascinating past, complete with ghost stories and legends. But the crown jewel of spooky experiences is the Crescent Hotel, known as the most haunted hotel in America. In the 1930s, the haunted hotel in Eureka Springs became an experimental cancer hospital. "Dr." Norman Baker, claiming to be a licensed physician, examined cancer patients in the hotel's basement while charging unsuspecting families their life savings. Several apparitions from the hospital visit the hotel today. Our destination is Carroll Co (4M1), which is 13nm from Eureka Springs. Your departure is must be greater than 75nm.
